Why constraints survive
Most persistent constraints don't survive because people think they are good. They survive because everything adapts around them. Standards form around them, budgets get built around them, users change their habits around them, and after a while the market stops asking.
The gap widens
So what people have falls further behind what is attainable. We look for those places.
What we do about it
We work out what is attainable and state exactly what that benchmark assumes. We measure how far the best product falls short, and look for a constraint we can remove. Then we test it. If the gap closes, we start a company.
What we show
We show our numbers, say what we don't know, and draw no conclusions before the evidence.
